an
Enhanced Radar Interface PCI Card
Anaheim, CA – August 29, 2005 – SSR Engineering, Inc.
greatly improves the performance and capabilities of the
PC Based Radar Process (PC-RP™) by developing an
enhanced Radar Interface PCI Card. This new development
allows SSR to more easily adapt the PC-RP to a wide
variety of commercial and military radars. The new card
utilizes Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology
to increase the detection performance of the PC-RP while
also providing the ability to interface with new types
of radars.
SSR
Engineering maintains several products providing
Maritime Safety and Homeland Security including the PC
Based Radar Processor (PC-RP™), Composite Tracker,
Remote Display Operator Position (RDOP™), and Camera
Manager. These same components are used throughout the
United States in US Coast Guard, US Navy, and several
other government installations.
The
PC-RP is a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Radar
Processor capable of interfacing with virtually any
Military or Commercial Radar. Since the PC-RP is based
on standard PC hardware, it provides a cost effective
solution that greatly reduces long-term maintenance
costs. The ability to utilize a standard network to
distribute the Radar Data from a remote site to a
control center simplifies the installation and use of
the system.
The
Composite Tracker correlates Automated Identification
System (AIS) data, Radar data from all Radars, and a
variety of other sensors to produce an integrated
Composite Track that is maintained throughout an entire
coverage area.
An
Operations Center typically utilizes SSR Engineering’s
RDOP as the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to monitor
and control the system. The RDOP presents a complete
view of an area and can include a Dual Headed Display to
simultaneously monitor Radar Data and Chart Data as well
as the corresponding Camera Video Data.
