Engineering, Inc. Develops New Radar Access Unit (RAU™)
Anaheim, CA – July 29, 2005 – SSR Engineering, Inc.
develops a new Radar Access Unit (RAU) that can receive
radar data over a network and generate a Radar Data
Distribution System (RADDS) video stream. The RADDS
video stream can be input directly to existing analog
display consoles like the SPA-25.
The new
Radar Access Unit is a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS)
product that is currently available for immediate
delivery. The RAU eliminates the need for a legacy
Radar Switchboard Systems to distribute raw radar
signals to analog display consoles. The RAU also
simplifies the installation of analog consoles since a
single network cable delivers the radar data from the
radar rather than requiring multiple radar cables.
