FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SSR
Engineering, Inc. Develops a New Digital Radar Video
Recorder (RiVo™)
Anaheim, CA – June 30, 2005 – SSR Engineering, Inc. has
developed a new Digital Radar Video Recorder (RiVo™)
that can simultaneously record, playback, and archive
recorded radar video to a hard drive and a DVD drive.
RiVo can be used to record raw radar video data from
virtually any existing commercial or military radar
since it is based on the same processing core and
hardware as the PC based Radar Processor (PC-RP™).
During playback RiVo generates a radar trigger and video
stream that can be input directly to an analog display
console like the SPA-25.
The
radar data can be recorded in raw mode, 8-bit mode, or
4-bit mode to increase the recording time from several
hours to several days. The data is saved to a high
capacity removable hard drive in a continuous recording
loop. Specific time periods can be selected and
archived to or played back from a DVD drive while
recording.
An easy
to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) is provided to
display status and remotely control the RiVo system over
the network. Since RiVo automatically starts recording
on startup, the only user interaction required is to
select and activate the playback files.
